Some of our Customers Pictures

I love it when our customers send photos in to either show us what they have used our keepsake frames for; how their baby castings have turned out or how their wall letters or canvas names look in their children's bedrooms.

These pictures were from a customer with a bespoke order for black and pink letters to match her nursery.  We thought she'd made a fantastic job of the nursery and were very pleased to hear what she said about us:
"I cant reccomend this buisness enough, they have been great to communicate with, i placed a specific order and they matched it perfectly without a problem, the product looks great so i thought id share it...i am very pleased and my little girl will be amazed, thanks very much x"
We'd love to see more photos from customers so please keep them coming and we'll post them to the blog.

Wooden Letters for Wedding Decoration

Wooden Initials Hanging in the Car

We love this original idea for wooden letters as wedding decorations. Our customer was mother of the groom and wanted to find something unique and personal for her
son and his fiancee for their wedding day.  She decided to buy two wooden letters (the initials of both of their names) and hang them from the front seats of the wedding car, so they would be opposite them when they sat down. We painted the letters to match the wedding colour scheme and kept the decoration simply - using a butterfly for the brides letter (M) and a few stars for the groom's letter (A).
We were really pleased to hear back from our customer after the wedding, not only had they had a fantastic day but the bride and groom were also thrilled with their gift.  After the wedding they hung them up on the wall above their bed as a wedding keepsake.
If you are looking for wooden letters for wedding decorations - we'd love to hear from you.  Our website currently has a range of Wooden Letters for girls and boys, which will give you an idea of how they look and the prices.  We're happy to help with any bespoke requests so please feel free to get in touch with your requirements.

Customer Photo - Unique Baby Cast Display

Here's a fab photo that one of our customers has been kind enough to send in.  Rather than taking the usual display approach  (a photo and a cast) Charlotte had a shelf fixed into it for the rollies to sit on and then included two casts of her son Gabriel - one at 3 weeks and the second at 9 weeks.

We love this photo and think it makes a unique and very personal display.  Thanks for sharing Charlotte!

Just what Keepsake Frames are for!

Here's an email we received from a customer who bought one of our Keepsake Frames.

I wanted to share it, as for me it completely sums up the reason for our keepsake frames - to display cherished items that hold great value and sentiment to us.  I love this picture, for the reasons explained by the customer below.  You don't have to frame something that is still completely perfect and in tact as more often than not, it is items such as the teddy bear that have been used and loved and are therefore worn out, that remind us of the most precious times.

"I just wanted to let you know that I wanted the frame to put a little teddy in that my now 19 yr old son used to carry everywhere.

It is completely without ears - has hardly any arms and legs but was so loved and I thought it would be a lovely way to preserve what there is left and to look at to remind me to wonder where all the years have gone.

Many thanks he fits perfectly."

So a huge thank you to our customer for not only sharing the story but also the picture of the bear in the frame.  If anyone else is happy to share their images, please email us at info@forkeepssake.co.uk.

If you are looking for a deep box frame to display your cherished keepsake, visit our website to view our range.  Thanks for reading!

Wedding Keepsake Frames - Finally!

Well, it's been a long time coming, but my wedding keepsakes frames have finally been made.  I've used two Empty Black Keepsake Frames, one with a twin aperture mount and the other with a single aperture mount.

For both keepsake frames I placed the photo and mount at the back of the frame so that I could display the items I wanted to keep, in front of them.

In keeping with the colour theme, I used a white mount and displayed: one of the thank you cards I had left (as this was smaller than the invitations but replicated the design); some of the imitation rose petals that we had used to scatter on the tables; and a small bunch of red roses to replicate the button holes for the men.

In the second frame I displayed some more of the rose petals, with a miniture bunch of white roses, used to replicate my bouquet and a snowflake table name card holder.

I used the same frames that I used to frame the baby foot casts I made of  my two children and so they all look fab together.

Don't forget to visit www.forkeepssake.co.uk if you are looking for Empty Keepsake Frames to display special keepsakes of yours or if you are looking for Baby Casting Kits with or without frames.

We offer a range of frame colours and depths as well as mount and backing board colours.

Frames are £19.99 and baby casting kits start at £12.50 without a frame and £32.50 with a frame.

Tips for Baby Keepsake Frames. 1. Choosing the Keepsake and Frame

If you like the idea of framing something special and sentimental to you, but don't know where to start, here's a few basic tips to help out.  Since my website is geared to babies and children, this is where I will focus, but the same tips will apply to anything.

1) Choosing the keepsake.  What is important to you?  Do you have something in particular that reminds you of cherished times or a special occasion?  For children this might be christening gifts that end up getting hidden away in a box, or a baby's first shoes, a comforter, the hospital band, a first nappy, 3d baby castings, a booty.....
2) Making sure you get a frame that fits.  If you are buying one of our empty keepsake frames, you will need to measure the items prior to purchase to make sure they will fit.  Depth is probably the most important factor here as it can be the most restrictive.  We have a range of deep box frames in three different depths.

3) Mount or no mount... that is the question.  How do you want your keepsakes displayed?  Are you going for a less is more approach and framing a lone item?  If so a mount would look great.  If on the other hand you have several items to frame and you need the extra space, then you probably won't need the mount.  If you do decide on mount, you can get more than one opening to split the display (e.g. photo on one side and a shoe on another).

4) Choosing the frame colour and style.  Where is the frame going to be displayed?  Which room?  Do you want it to stand on a shelf or windowsill or hung on a wall?  What decor will it need to match?  By considering all of these questions, you will narrow down the colour and style that you are looking for.

Check out our website www.forkeepssake.co.uk to view our range of deep shadowbox style frames (Empty Keepsake Frames) that have been designed specifically to display baby keepsakes.

New Personalised Canvas Names for Girls

More new products at For Keep's Sake!  As we move, what seems to be very quickly!, into 2010 we are constantly adding new designs and products to our rapidly expanding website.  We are listening to our customers and many of these new items are a direct result of customer feedback and even some bespoke requests or alterations to existing products.  So please, do keep your feedback and requests coming as we are more than happy to try and accomodate anything that you are specifically looking for.

So, back to our newest additions, these are two canvas names.  The first in green and pink, decorated with a mixture of hearts and butterflies and the second in lilac with a single purple sparkling butterfly.
These canvas names are hand crafted and made to order, so each is unique.  They are created from a box canvas measuring 20cm by 20cm and each features a 3D wooden letter, to add to its impact.  We can make these canvases larger, measuring either 25x25 or 30x30 but do not have these currently listed on the website.  If you are interested in a larger canvas please just email us at info@forkeepssake.co.uk.

These two canvas names are now available for purchase on our website:

New: Large Wooden Animal Wall Letters for Boys' Bedroom

Do you think that your little boy's bedroom or nursery is missing something but you're not sure what?  Are you trying to find something that will help to brighten up the room without having to buy a range of expensive bedroom accessories?

If so then you should check out our new animal wooden wall letters available at www.forkeepssake.co.uk.  These fun wall letters are our latest new addition and are an excellent way to add a touch of colour to any bedroom wall - kids will love them.

These wooden wall letters are 20cm high and 12mm thick - we use thicker letters than most other companies as the extra depth creates a more obvious 3D effect.  We hand paint each letter and then varnish them for extra protection.  You can buy enough letters to make up the child's name or if space or budget is tight, why not use the child's initials or have a look at our  range of larger single wooden letter names.

Looking for good value bedding for a nursery or kids bedroom?

Tip - If you're looking for some good value nursery bedding and don't mind about (very) limited choice - Dunelm Mill is a good place to look. The shop itself represents excellent value for money on most products.

I love their nursery bedding as not only is it good value, but I like the styles that they choose and rather than trying to sell it all in a bundle, you can buy whichever separates you like!  This could make it more expensive than buying a bundle if you choose to purchase everything (admittedly I've not worked this out), but it gives you the flexibility and choice of just buying what you need!

They also have some lovely kids bedding so have a look.  And don't forget, once you've chosen the bedding, check out our website (www.forkeepssake.co.uk) for personalised accessories.  We welcome bespoke requests and are happy to adapt any design to fit with the decor of your child's bedroom or nursery.
